K9 Kindergarten is a family-run dog training business based in South Wales.

Our Background

K9 Kindergarten was founded in 2012 by Vicky and James Coxon.

​James is a fully qualified animal behaviourist holding the prestigious post graduate diploma in Animal Behaviour Counselling from the University of Southampton.  

He has competed at Championship level in dog agility, qualifying for Crufts, Olympia and winning the Welsh National Agility Handler title.

He also has an interest in sheepdog trialling and cani-cross.

Vicky has trained dogs,  both her own and other people’s, for over 20 years. 

She studied with renowned American animal trainer, Dr Bob Bailey, one of the founding figures in modern animal training.

Vicky’s passions apart from puppies, are dog agility and trick training. She has qualified for Crufts and twice won the Welsh National Agility Handler title. 

Her Parson Russell Terrier, Fraggle, appeared in Dr Who, Casualty, Pobl Y Cwm and on Radio Wales.

She also enjoys training scent work and keeping fit with cani-cross.

For 3 years Vicky and James produced and presented the live animal stage show at Folly Farm Adventure Park in Pembrokeshire, performing their Dog Olympics and Farmyard Frolics shows with their trained dogs, pigs and ducks.  

Currently they share their home with their teenage son, a working cocker spaniel, 2 American Shepherds and a working bearded collie.
